McHenry Sportsman’s Club Newsletter (August 2009)
FINANCIAL STATUS - August was a very good month and very good financially.
Major expenses for the month: $660 for a new starter for the Cub Cadet and the lease patment of $1,500.
TRAP OPERATIONS - The Club threw 1,646 practice rounds in July which was slightly less than July 2008.
Target costs were $3,496 in August.
PROJECTS
- Trap #1 top opening project continues with refinements being made by Mike Lunebach and Butch Ackerman.
- The front of the clubhouse was painted by Bob Krieg.
- Gene Higby replaced the outside speakers so it is now possible to hear your squad being called pretty much everywhere.
CLUB PICNIC - was held on August 23rd with over 100 members and family attending.
Food was excellent, thank you Moelle Mach and Bob Hrieg.
We shot 373 rounds. Noelle Mach and Bob Krieg combined to when the Guy/Gal Protection event with 25 straight.
Lots of good scored turned in.
Will Youngs won the 15-16 Year Old trophy, Gunner Peto the 13-14 Year Old trophy, Jake Beskow the 11-12 Year Old trophy, and Little Timmie Kraus awarded the 10 and under trophy.
Butch Ackerman arranged to borrow 3 sporting clays traps and set them up on trap #3 to provide crossing and incoming targets.
This gave the membership an oppertunity to see the possibilities of alternate target presentations.
MEMBERSHIPS - Club membership is at 292 at the end of August.
NEXT CLUB MEETING - Saturday, October 3, 2009 at 5:00PM in the Club House.
